What’s your story? What are ya’ll into? How do you spend your days? Whats in important in life? etc, etc…
We met about 5 years ago on Tinder, and started living together within 4 months of knowing each other. Obviously that ended up working out well! In our spare time, we love spending time outside, taking our dogs for walks, camping, just enjoying time with family and friends. Once we get married and establish our permanent life down in Tennessee, we cannot wait to start a family and raise our kids in a life full of love.
Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?
To have a lasting memory that we can share with each other and everyone else for the rest of our life.
Why did you Hunter Floyd Films to create your wedding film?
Your work is extremely creative and I was able to feel all those emotions while watching your samples.
The proposal? …Tell me everything (all the gushy details)
It was 2 weeks before Easter, and we were getting together with his mom early for celebrations since she was going to be out of town for the Easter holiday. As we entered her house, there was a message hanging on her front door indicating that we were going to be participating in an Easter egg scavenger hunt. The whole time, I thought it was his mom who had created the very clever clues throughout her house when we were finding the different eggs. But little did I know, Ben had created these individual clues and planned with his mom to set these eggs up for us to search together. Once I found the final egg, we were both standing outside of his mom’s house where we first met, while I was reading the final clue out loud. I started to shake, because I started to realize this wasn’t an ordinary Easter egg hunt. As I read out loud, “You did it, you’re done! Glad you didn’t flee! I’ll give my all to you”….. And all of a sudden I see Ben in my peripheral vision bended down on one knee. What I didn’t realize until I watched the video that his brother recorded, Ben had actually said when he went down on one knee, “If you’ll marry me”. I didn’t hear that part because I completely blacked out! I was shaking from head to toe, and felt like my knees were buckling. Both his mom and brother were there recording the entire process and taking it pictures. The proposal wasn’t anything fancy or extravagant, but it was absolutely perfect because Ben put his heart and soul into such a creative way in asking him to spend the rest of his life with him. We continued on with the festivities doing what we do best with his family, playing tons of different card games and drinking our favorite wines and craft beers, while reminiscing on the last 4 years together and what our future plans are going to look like.
Illinois Beach Resort … What made you choose this venue over all others?
I know this sounds cheesy, but ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to get married on a beach. I never thought I would get to do that, since destination weddings are way too expensive. On our 1 year anniversary, we went camping at the Illinois Beach Resort. So through our process of searching venues online, we came across Illinois Beach Resort and immediately knew we had to check it out. It was our 3rd and final venue we went to see in person, and I instantly fell in love. We got to stand right near where the ceremony is held on the beach with Lake Michigan in the background. It was absolutely breathtaking and I couldn’t help but feel all the feels standing there! So I just knew once I was there that it all felt right.
What experience do you want to give to your guests?
We really don’t get to see our family, as many of them live hours away. So we want to be able to enjoy every second with them, celebrating the beginning of our marriage in a beautiful atmosphere. Family is extremely important to us, so we want to be able to soak all that in and really enjoy the time we get to spend with them.
